LAHORE: Top seed Tayyab Aslam overcame a strong challenge from Ahmed Amin before winning the final of the inaugural Defence Raya Open Squash Championship here at the Defence Raya Club on Tuesday.

Tayyab, world No.43, faced some tense moments before bagging the first game of the decider 12-10.

In a neck-and-neck fight, Ahmed staged a brilliant comeback to win the second game 13-10. The fight for supremacy continued in the third game, which was eventually won by seasoned Tayyab who clinched it 12-10 and with it the title.
