Jeep plunges into ravine: nine killed

ABBOTTABAD, Nov 26: At least nine people, including two brothers and three women, were killed and two injured when a jeep plunged into a deep ravine in Riyalla late Friday, police sources said.

The jeep (7231-Karachi) was coming here from Ali Abad of the Circle Bakot area. When it reached Riyalla, driver Sajid lost control over its steering and the jeep fell into the ravine.

As a result, Mir Zaman and Salman — sons of Siyan Samandar — driver Sajid, Shabbir, son of Gul Zaman; Shakoor, son of Mehar Ali; Zareen Bibi, wife of Miskeen; Rashida, wife of Barkat; and Reshman died on the spot. All are said to be the residents of Ali Abad.

The rescue teams and civil administration rushed to the place of the accident and took the two injured to the Ayub Medical Complex where one of them died.

He has not been identified so far, hospital sources said. —APP
