LAHORE: Despite improvement in the weather conditions, the Pakistan Railways trains operations could not be streamlined, leaving the passengers with no option but to reach their destinations late.

“The recent heavy rains, fog and other technical issues caused disruption in the train operations and they is yet to get smooth despite improvement in the weather,” an official source told Dawn on Saturday.

“It will be ok within a week or so, subject to continuity of the current improved weather,” he added.

According to a press release issued by a spokesman for the railways, several passenger trains arrived one to five hours late at Lahore Railway Station from various cities. Resultantly, the departure of these trains from Lahore to various destinations was also delayed. The trains reaching Lahore with delays on Saturday included Shah Hussain Express (five hours late), Fareed Express (three-and-a-half hours), Karachi Express (three hours), Green Line Express (three hours), Pak Business Express (three hours), Khyber Mail (three hours), Karakoram Express (two hours, 20 minutes), Tezgam (two hours), Allama Iqbal Express (two hours), Jaffar Express (one hour), Awam Express (one hour), Millat Express (two hours, 40 minutes), Rehman Baba Express (one hour and 40 minutes) and Pakistan Express (one hour).
