KARACHI: Half-a-dozen horses will be up against each other in the Snowfall Cup which features prominently in a small four-race card that has been drawn for the Gymkhana race meeting which is slated to take place at the Karachi Racecourse on Saturday.

The cup race which is third in racing order will be held in combined scale order VI and VII and will go over four furlongs.

The opening race — scale order III and IV — has only four contestants and will go over four-and-a-half furlongs. It is also the day’s feature event.

The second and supporting race classified under scale order V and VI will see six horses vying for honours in the four-and-a-half furlongs sprint.

This time the lowest classification race of scale order VII and VIII will take place in the end instead of the beginning.

“Some horses are unfit while some are resting,” a spokesman for the KRC told Dawn when asked reason of fewer entries.

The first race starts at 3pm.
