KARACHI: Widening of another road

Published November 26, 2005

KARACHI, Nov 25: The city government will start work on the reconstruction and widening of Business Recorder Road next week. The width of the road would become 120 feet in accordance with the master plan after its reconstruction and widening, said a city government hand-out released here on Friday.

On Friday, EDOs Syed Sarfaraz Shah and Syed Hashim Raza visited the site in question and inspected the anti-encroachment activities there.

They were briefed on the occasion that the project worth more than Rs56 million included widening of both the tracks from the Nazimabad Roundabout to Gurumandir up to 120 feet.

Business Recorder Road from the Lasbela Chowk to Gurumadir was 120 feet wide in the master plan, but was reduced to mere 85 to 90 feet due to the encroachments.

Reconstruction and widening of the road up to 120 feet will be carried out next week by removing encroachments up to 15 feet each from both the sides of the road.—PPI
