Karate team for Iran

ISLAMABAD, Nov 24: Pakistan karate team will leave for Iran on Sunday for a four-week tour to prepare for two international multi-sports events next month.

The team, currently under training at Pakistan Sports Complex here, is scheduled to participate in the 18th Commonwealth Games to be staged at Melbourne (Australia) from March 15 to 26 next year and in the 10th South Asian Games to be held at Colombo (Sri Lanka) from April 18 to 28, 2006.

Pakistan Sports Board and Pakistan Karate Federation are jointly financing the Pakistan karate team’s training tour to Iran.

Squad: Ghulam Ali, Khalid Noor, Nurullah, Agha Muhammad, Abdul Raziq, Shamsuz Zaman, Fazal Hussain, Shaukat Ali, Sodagar Masih, Tariq Mahmood, Asif Nawaz, Sajid Butt and coach Zahoor Ahmed.—APP
