SWAT: The local leaders of Jamaat-i-Islami said here on Sunday that the country was on the verge of bankruptcy and collapse owing to the incompetence of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Led by Mingora city emir of JI Mohammad Amin, they were addressing a protest camp set up against the government’s policies, price hikes, gas low pressure and fuel price adjustment (FPA) tax in the electricity bills.

Addressing the protest camp, the speakers said that the mini-budget would make the lives of people more miserable. “Mini-budget is another tactic to rob people. It will pave the way for a tsunami of price hike and inflation. Imran Khan is making poor people scapegoats to hide his incompetence and failure,” they said.

They said that the PTI government brought the country to the brink of bankruptcy. “The government has resorted to taking loans frequently but it is not known where the money is being spent. The corruption of ministers and advisers has impoverished the country,” they alleged.

The speakers said that the fuel price adjustment of Rs60 billion in the electricity bills in the month of December and Rs60 billion in the month of January was a robbery.

They said that the affairs of the country were being run by International Monetary Fund.

They said that due to the incompetency and corruption of the PTI government, life of the poor people was a living hell.

“Imran Khan has no economist in his team but only corrupt politicians, whose incompetence and corruption are multiplying problems of the poor people with each passing day,” they said. They added that new taxes were being included in the electricity bills while prices of food items are skyrocketing.

The speakers said that that national exchequer and economy of the country were being ruined. They urged people to support Jamaat-i-Islami and save the country. “JI has a pure, fearless, honest and talented leadership with the best vision and can lead the country on the path of development,” they claimed.
