LAHORE, Nov 23: Punjab Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Raja Basharat on Wednesday introduced the Punjab Criminal Prosecution Service (constitution, functions and powers) Bill in the provincial assembly. The speaker referred the bill to the parliamentary committee. On a point of clarification raised by PML-N’s Rana Sanaullah, the minister said the bill did not fall under the Rule 6, which prohibits legislation in certain areas without prior approval of the president. Rather, the bill fulfilled requirements of the Asian Development Bank. Other provinces had already initiated the process and the Punjab was only following the suite now, he said.
