PESHAWAR: The Peshawar district administration impounded 93 illegal rickshaws from different parts of the city during a crackdown launched on Tuesday on the orders of the Peshawar High Court to ease traffic congestion on the roads of the provincial metropolis.

A statement issued here said the district administration in collaboration with the traffic police and the Regional Transport Authority had launched the action. Besides, the officials checked route permits and other documents of nearly 300 vehicles during the campaign.
