DELHI: “In all probability the All-India Muslim League Working Committee will very shortly survey the political situation of the country after the passing of a resolution on January 6 by the A.I.C.C. …” says Qazi Mohammad Isa, Member, Working Committee, All-India Muslim League, in a statement issued from Delhi on Wednesday [Jan 8]. “…[A]s the President of the Provincial Muslim League, Baluchistan, I feel it my duty to comment on the part pertaining to my Province. I am referring to the amendment to para 3 of the resolution where Baluchistan has been included along with the N.W.F.P. … I fail to understand what right the Congress has to speak on behalf of Baluchistan, which is a 100 per cent Muslim League Province and where Congress has no organisation to speak of. …
“Even in the recent elections to the Quetta Municipality, which were on a joint electorate basis, the Congress miserably failed to return a single Musalman on the Congress ticket. The Congress must bear in mind that the Musalmans of Baluchistan who form 98 per cent of the population have decided once for all to throw in their lot with the Musalmans of India… .”
