KHUZDAR: Six members of a family, including two women, lost their lives and 20 others suffered injuries when a passenger wagon collided with a truck on Quetta-Karachi National Highway near the Wadh area of Khuzdar district on Thursday evening.

The ill-fated family was going to Khuzdar from Karachi.

Levies Force officials said the driver of passenger wagon lost control of his vehicle because of over-speeding and hit the truck parked on the roadside.

Soon after the incident, Assistant Commissioner of Wadh Jamil Ahmed Rind, along with Levies Force personnel, rushed to the site and shifted the bodies and the injured to Teaching Hospital, Khuzdar.

“We have received six bodies and 20 injured people,” sources in the hospital told Dawn, adding that the four injured persons, whose condition was serious, were being shifted to Karachi for giving better treatment.

The deceased were identified as Tariq Noor, Ghulam Mustafa, Yasar, Saima, Asyia and Noor Zahid.
