NORTH WAZIRISTAN/SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: Two security personnel were injured when an improvised explosive device went off in Mirali subdivision of North Waziristan on Sunday.

Official sources said the blast occurred in Titi locality of Sinwam tehsil. The injured were shifted to a hospital in Miramshah.

Meanwhile, an elder, namely Malik Kashmir Khan, belonging to Sulimankhel tribe, was killed when cavalcade of Wana subdivision assistant commissioner came under attack in Kankara area.

The AC along with elders of Sulimankhel tribe had gone to Kankara area of Wazir and Dotani tribes to resolve a lingering dispute between them. However, some miscreants from Dotani tribe opened fire on his caravan, leaving an elder from Sulimankhel tribe critically injured. He was rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital, Wana, where he died.
