ISLAMABAD: A property dealer was murdered and another injured over a land dispute in Phulgran village on Saturday night, police said.

A group of armed persons stormed the house of the property dealer and opened fire, leaving two persons injured.

The injured were shifted to hospital where one of them, identified as Raja Zaryab, was pronounced dead. The other injured was hospitalised with bullet injuries.

The police said the deceased and the injured were in property business along with one of the attackers. They arranged land for a private housing society.

On Saturday, Zaryab was establishing a post on a piece of land arranged for the housing society when one of his rivals reached there and claimed ownership on the land and asked him to leave.

They exchanged harsh words and left the spot. Later, however, Zaryab’s rivals attacked his house.

Station House Officer (SHO) Bhara Kahu Inspector Asjad Mehmood said there was an old enmity between the two groups. They had been involved in scores of clashes and scuffles over land disputes in the past, he added.
