LAHORE, Nov 18: The Pakistan Poultry Association will arrange on a large scale vaccination against Avian Influenza H-7 and H-9 at the poultry farms for the prevention of bird flu. A decision to this effect was taken at an association’s central executive committee meeting held with Raza Mahmud Khursand in the chair to discuss the situation concerning the bird flu threat.

It expressed satisfaction over reports of the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock that no case of bird flu had been reported from any part of the country till date.

The committee decided to arrange monitoring of poultry farms at the provincial level and make arrangements for sending samples from all parts of the country to the National Veterinary Laboratory to make conclusive diagnosis and confirmation of the disease.

It also worked out a detailed emergency rescue plan and decided to observe strict hygienic and sanitation measures at poultry farms.
