KARACHI, Nov 18: The Sindh Education Minister, Dr Hamida Khuhro, on Thursday issued the directives to ensure the inclusion of Sindhi language subject in the Sindh Board of Technical Education’s (SBTE) scheme of studies.

A spokesman for the education department, in a statement, said that Dr Hamida took serious notice of a report by a section of media, regarding the exclusion of the Sindhi language subject from the scheme of studies released by the SBTE.

The spokesman said that the federal government had released a combined scheme of studies for all the technical educational institutions of the country in which subject of Sindhi was included for Sindh province under the Language Act 1972.

He said that the inclusion of the Sindhi language would not only be ensured in the SBTE scheme of studies but the Language Act 1972 would be enforced at all set levels and teaching of the Sindhi language up to the prescribed levels would also be ensured.—APP
