HYDERABAD, Nov 16: Police have arrested 18 aamils (faith healers) from different parts of the city over the past three days in its ongoing crackdown on professional swindlers.

The Phulelli police arrested Premchand, Chaman Lal, Allah Rakha Masih, Mohammad Ishtiaq alias Maharaj, Moonjhi Kohli and Mohammad Aslam alias Lalo while Abdul Ghafoor alias Akbar Ali and Mohammad Urs.

The city police arrested Baba Mohammad Younus Ansari, Mumtaz Ahmed, and Dr Amiruddin Arain.

Mohammad Sohail, Ishrat Ali, Sher Mohammad and Imran were held by Latifabad police.

Panto Ram Kohli by Bhittai Naggar police, Miskeen Shah by Makki Shah police, Shah Jan Baba and Ganga Ram by Gulshan-i-Hali police.

They were found in possession of different items including human skulls, materials and literature.

During the last three days, 38-narcotic dealers were arrested from Latifabad, Tando Jam, Husri, Tando Yousuf, Hussainabad, Market and Phulelli.

They were found in possession of 544 bottles of liquor and different quantity of charas.

The Gulshan-i-Hali police arrested one Izhar Yousufzai, an alleged member of inter-provincial gang as he was found in possession of 1,010 grams of charas.

Police said that he used to smuggle in narcotics from tribal area for further supply in the city.

Police continued their drive against supplier and sellers of mainpuri and gutka in the city and arrested one Younus who was found in possession of 450 packets of gutka in the jurisdiction of City police station.

Makki Shah police nabbed Younus Ansari and seized 400 packets of gutka while Sakhi Pir police nabbed Farhat Hussain and recovered 100 packets of mainpuri.

The Phulelli police arrested eight persons, Abdul Wahab, Mohammad Shahid, Mohammad Shakir, Mohammad Adnan, Babar, Atiqur Rehman, Imamuddin and Naseeruddin during a raid at the mainpuri and gutka manufacturing plant.

Raw material used in preparation of mainpuri was also seized.
