Pacers put Faisalabad in control

LAHORE, Nov 15: Faisalabad’s three-pronged pace attack has put their team in command against Lahore Shalimar on the opening day of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Gold League match at the LCCA Ground on Tuesday.

Right-arm medium pacer Ahmad Hayat took four wickets for 41, left-arm Samiullah Niazi finished with two for 25 while right-arm Asad Ali two for seven runs, as Shalimar were shot out for 76 in 27.2 overs after Faisalabad’s skipper Misbahul Haq put them into bat first.

By close of play, though Faisalabad had lost five wickets but they had gained 51-runs lead on first innings and were 127-5 in 44.2 overs.

Muhammad Hafeez scored 48 with nine fours off 75 balls.

For Lahore Shalimar, right-arm pacers Arslan Mir (3-28) and Fahad Masood (2-41) were the wicket takers.
