LAHORE: The German Embassy and the Annemarie-Schimmel-Haus organised a two-day event to mark the 70th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Germany and Pakistan at Alhamra Arts Centre on Friday.

The event showcased German companies and businesses in Pakistan. Up to 30 companies and organizations were present with their stalls to interact with visitors.

A science film festival and exhibition was also part of the event.

On Saturday, there is a family day with additional kids’ activities and a German-Pakistani fusion music concert by Ustad Ashraf Sharif Khan and friends.

Bernhard Schlagheck said they wanted to offer a platform for the people of Punjab to meet the German community in Pakistan.

He said he believed that it was the people-to-people relations that offered the strongest links in a friendship between two countries.
