GWDAR: Balochistan Governor Syed Zahoor Agha has appointed Prof Dr Abdul Razzaq Sabir as vice chancellor of the Gwadar University. He has assumed the charge of his office.

Dr Sabir had served as the first Vice Chancellor of the Turbat University from May 2013 to March this year.

His professional, academic and administrative experience spans more than 40 years.

He served for four years in Jordan as a scholar for Quaid-i-Azam Chair in Urdu and Pakistan Studies and was Vice Chairman of Department of Asian Lang­uages in University of Jordan and served as the education, culture and media coordinator of the Pakistan Embassy in Jordan.

He also served as Director of Balochistan Study Centre and Chairman of Faculty of Training and Development Centre, Univ­ersity of Balochistan, Quetta.

His research articles were published in journals of the US, Japan, UK, Sweden, Italy, India, Jordan and Libya.

He is also the author of various books and was honoured with Tamgha-i-Imtiaz by the government on his academic and literary services.
