MASTUNG: Four people lost their lives when a truck and a pick-up collided on Quetta-Taftan National Highway in Mastung district on Thursday.
Levies officials said both the vehicles caught fire after the head-on collision and four people, including two drivers, could not come out of the burning vehicles and died.
Reports suggested that both vehicles were carrying petrol smuggled from Iran.
Soon after the accident, Mastung’s deputy commissioner sent fire tenders which brought the fire under control but failed to save the lives of four persons. The bodies were sent to Mastung district hospital for autopsy.
