KARACHI: A 35-year-old man was shot dead in Ahsanabad on Saturday morning, according to police.

They added that Salman Khan was shot and killed by armed pillion riders at around 6am near a milk shop in Sector-4.

SITE-Superhighway Industrial Area SHO Imam Bux said that when the victim was purchasing breakfast items from the shop, armed pillion riders appeared there. One of them disembarked, opened fire on him and the two rode away.

He was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

The officer ruled out the possibility of any robbery bid behind the incident. Hailed from Swabi, the victim worked as a machine operator in a factory. He has good reputation in the locality.

In another incident, a youth was gunned down in Gulshan-i-Hadeed on Saturday morning.

Steel Town SHO Tariq Kamran said Zahid Ali, 22, dropped his brother-in-law on a motorbike somewhere in the area. He purchased milk for breakfast and was returning home when armed men gunned down him at Somar Goth near Shahbaz PSO pump.

The incident occurred at around 6am. No one witnessed the crime.

The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre to fulfill medico-legal formalities.

The officer suspected some personal enmity behind the murder.
