Met Office forecasts dry weather

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast mainly dry weather for most parts of the country during the next 24 hours.

However, rain and wind-thunderstorm with snowfall over mountains may occur in Gilgit-Baltistan and some districts of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the synoptic situation, a westerly wave was affecting northern parts of the country and may persist during the next 12 hours. Continental air is prevailing over other parts of the country.

In the last 24 hours, rain wind-thunderstorms occurred in upper Punjab, Islamabad, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir. The weather remained dry over other parts of the country.

During the period, rainfall recorded in different parts of Punjab included Rawalpindi (Chaklala 118mm, Shamsabad 115, Kutchery 67mm), Islamabad (Zero Point 67mm, Saidpur 24mm, Bokra 29mm, Golra 14mm, Airport 10mm), Murree 46mm and Jhelum 4mm.
