KARACHI, Nov 11: The Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) has divided the 18 towns of the city into three zones and designated separate chief engineers for each zone.

Besides, a superintending engineer (SE) has been designated as supervisor for water supply and sewerage system in each town, said a KWSB announcement issued here on Thursday.

Khalid Malik, Asood Mal and Mohammad Suleman Chandio would be chief engineers for the Zone-I, Zone-II and Zone-III respectively.

SE Landhi Town Javed Shamim, SE Korangi Town Syed Jamil Akhtar, SE Malir Town Abdul Rahim Khatti, SE Bin Qasim Town Abdul Aziz Siddiqui and SE Shah Faisal Town Salim Siddiqui would work under the supervision of Zone-I Chief Engineer Khalid Malik.

Superintending Engineer Gulshan Town Imran Asif, SE Jamshed Town Amjad Habib, SE Lyari Town Qutubuddin Sheikh, SE Liaquatabad Town Shakil Qureshi, SE Saddar Town Fahim Akhtar Zaidi and SE Keamari Town Saifuddin would be supervised by Zone-II Chief Engineer Asood Mal.

Those SEs who would be working under the supervision of Zone-III Chief Engineer Mohammad Suleman Chandio are Owais Malik of Orangi Town, Salim Ahmed of Baldia Town, Syed Zaheer Abbas of Site Town, Aziz Channa of Gadap Town, Anwar Saeed of North Karachi Town, Mohammad Arif of North Nazimabad Town and Murli Lal Raj Pal of Gulberg Town.

The Karachi Water and Sewerage Board’s Water Trunk Main has been given under the control of the chief engineer bulk which was earlier headed by Suleman Chandio.

Chief Engineer Gulzar Memon has been given the charge of Electrical and Mechanical Water and Sewerage.

Chief Engineer JBIC Mushtaq Memon has been given the charge of Chief Engineer Mega Project Electrical and Mechanical besides having the charge of 35MW power plant, desalination plant, sewerage treatment plants and GRP factory.

Meanwhile a committee has been setup for physical checking of water board employees with Deputy Managing Director Human Resource Development Arshad Javed as its convenor.

The members will include Lt Col (retd) Ehteshamuddin and Major (retd) Nawaz Gondal while Director Administration Abdul Rauf will be member secretary.—PPI/APP
