KARACHI, Nov 10: The Pakistan Medical Association, Karachi chapter, has decided to continue its voluntary service to quake victims for a further six-month period. PMA General Secretary Dr Qaiser Sajjad said that PMA doctors and paramedics would continue to provide all types of medical facilities.

On his return to the city, he said that the PMA team comprised Dr Unaiza Niaz, Sehar Hassan, and Shahnaz Ahad, a counsellor of the Jinnah College, Mansehra.

In a press release, Dr Sajjad said that the team of doctors provided initial psychiatric treatment to patients with complaints of fear, palpitation, loss of appetite, loss of sleep, confusion, etc.

Other most common problems in survivors were skin disease like scabies and itching all over the body.

Dr Sajjad also requested doctors and paramedical staff to get their names registered with the PMA at its office on, Sir Aga Khan-III Road, Karachi to serve earthquake victims at PMA base camp, Mansehra. They can contact on 2251159, 2231534, 0301-2166545, 0301-2166546, or 0300-2275831.—PPI
