KARACHI: 13 cars, 16 bikes hijacked

KARACHI, Jan 24: Twenty-nine vehicles — 13 cars and 16 motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the city on Thursday, the police said.

Eight cars were hijacked and five others stolen, in districts South, Central, and East.

Eight motorcycles eight were hijacked. Eight others were stolen.

The police also claimed on Thursday to have recovered 13 vehicles: (J-0650) Garden, (F-9847) Nabi Bux, (R-2896) New Town, (KH-6295) Samanabad, (CD-0549) Manghopir, (KAN-273) Eidgah, (KCM-7546) Buffer Zone, (STE-1269), (RNB-9233) Gulbahar, (KAR-3579) Orangi Town, (KCX-3243) New Karachi, (DGF-4108) Paposhnagar and (D-08825) Malir City.

ROBBERY: Bandits looted cash from a petrol pump in Quaidabad on Thursday.

The bandits, riding in a car, drove to a petrol pump in Quaidabad where they held the staff as hostage at gunpoint, and snatched cash from the cashier, Iqbal, and escaped with the loot.
