GILGIT: Young Pakistani mountaineer Shehroze Kashif along with 10 international climbers successfully scaled the 8,163-meter Manaslu Peak in Nepal on Saturday morning.

Mr Kashif from Lahore was part of the Seven Summit Treks Manaslu Expedition 2021.

According to the expedition organisers, this was first international team of the season to climb the Manalsu Peak.

Mr Kashif, Martin Pollet from France, Dorota Lidia from Poland and eight sherpas from Nepal reached atop the mountain at 6.25am on Saturday.

The climbers arrived back at the base camp the same day.

Karrar Haidri, secretary Alpine Club of Pakistan, congratulated Sheroz Kashif on his successful feat.

He said the whole nation was proud of him.

Mr Kashif had started climbing at the age of 11, first scaling 3,000 meters peaks.

He took his passion to the next stage by reaching 4,000 meters and then 6,000, 8,000 and over 8,000 meters.

Kashif scaled Mount Everest (8,849m) at age 19 and K2 (8,611m) at age 19.

His scaling of Broad Peak (8,047m) had earned him the title of ‘The Broad Boy’.
