TAXILA: A 14-year-old boy committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree near village Bhir Dargahi in the limits of Taxila police on Thursday.

Police said Andullah had left home after exchanging harsh words with his family on Sunday. On Thursday, some passersby spotted the body hanging from a tree and informed police who reached the spot and shifted it to the THQ hospital for autopsy.

When contacted, Subdivisional Police Officer Syed Tahir Kazmi said it is a suicide case as the rope used by the boy for hanging himself was earlier used by the family to fasten cattle. Responding to a question, he said the preliminary autopsy report issued by the medical officer of the THQ hospital had ruled out an assault on the boy.
