ISLAMABAD: Two persons were killed in separate road accidents in capital, police said on Thursday.
In the first incident, a man was killed and his sister injured at Koral, they added.
The man – Shahbaz - along with his sister Sumia Bibi – was traveling on a motorcycle and when they reached Kirpa Road a tractor hit them, they said, adding that as a result both suffered injuries.
Later, the injured were taken to hospital where the man was pronounced dead, the police said, adding that the woman was stated to be stable.
Likewise, another motorcyclist was killed after being hit by Sport Utility Vehicle in E-7, they said, adding that the deceased was identified as Khalilur Rehman.
Meanwhile, robbers and thieves looted cash and valuables from eight different places in capital, police said.
In the first incident a gang of robbers looted cash and valuables worth Rs1.2million for a house in G-13/1, they said, adding that five armed men raided at the house of Zainul Haq and held the residents at gunpoint and shortly they made off with cash, gold ornaments and mobile phones.
In another incident, a gang of robbers looted cash, vehicle and mobile phones from a petrol pump, they said, adding that four persons armed with weapons raided the pump, located at Thanda Pani and held the staff at gunpoint.
Shortly they looted cash and mobiles from the staff and a motorcycle worth Rs500,000 and escaped.
Moreover, cash and ornaments worth Rs270,000 were stolen from a house in G-10/4, the police said, adding that some burglars broke into the house of Mohammad Wasim when the residents were away and made off with the looted items.
