QUETTA: Parliamentary Secretary for Health Dr Rubaba Khan Buledi has said that an anti-tuberculosis act would be introduced in Balochistan like the three other provinces to stamp out the deadly disease from the province.

Talking to a team of senior doctors led by Dr Karam Shah, senior adviser for anti-TB programme in Pakistan, Dr Buledi said that 30 per cent of TB-positive cases in Balochistan missed treatment record after diagnosis due to various reasons and the provincial government would take concerted steps to solve this problem.

She said that only 30pc of global funds allocated for TB control in Pakistan were utilised while 70pc of the allocated funds were returned.

She said that in order to eradicate TB from Balochistan, medical facilities would be made effective. She said the performance of administrative officers of the health department across the province would now be monitored to eradicate the deadly disease from the province.
