Buzdar orders suspension of 15 officers

NAROWAL: Chief Minister Usman Buzdar on Thursday ordered suspension of 15 officers from service during a visit to government departments in Sialkot.

The chief minister visited various government offices and took action on complaints of negligence and poor performance.

According to a press release, the AC Sambrial, the EXEN (Irrigation) Marala, the DSP Daska, the DSP Traffic, Sambrial’s Chief Officer Municipal Corporation, the MS THQ hospital, the AD Land Record, Sialkot’s CO Tehsil Corporation, the Excise and Taxation Officer, the DHO, the superintendent District Jail, Assistant Superintendent Women District Jail, the CO MC Pasrur, the CO MC Daska, Sub Registrar (Rural) and District Health Officer have been suspended.

The CM approved repair of Sambrial Road and carpeting of 12-kilometre long passage of Sialkot to Sambrial road. During his visit to the THQ hospital, he directed the authorities to improve the facilities and said new access road would be constructed for the health facility. He directed the Sialkot DC to complete the land acquisition work.

Daska-Sambrial Road’s construction and improvement funds would be provided and Shahabpura Bridge would also be completed, he said. He announced Rs200 million for the construction of the bridge and directed the Nespak MD to complete the project on a fast track.

During his visit to the district jail, he reprimanded superintendent jail and assistant superintendent. He expressed displeasure over mismanagement in the district jail and directed the officials to improve the facilities for the inmates.

The chief minister ordered operation against encroachments. He appointed excise and taxation secretary as inquiry officer to probe the property tax matters.

Mr Buzdar listened to public complaints at the Deputy Commissioner Office and directed the officials to resolve their problems.

Provincial minsters Muhammad Akhlaq, Fayyazul Hassan Chohan and MPA Ahsan Saleem Bariyar were also present.

Earlier, the chief minister paid a surprise visit to Sambrial and visited the THQ hospital where he summoned the DPO and asked him to solve the matter of a patient.

He also visited a land revenue centre in Sambrial and reviewed the performance. He took notice of the complaints of delay in issuance of ownership deeds. He said 850 revenue centres at village level had been established for better service delivery to the general public.

He also visited the model police station and inspected the front desk and women help counter besides inquiring about the problems the inmates had been facing at the lockup. He was briefed on the construction of a model police station.
