LAHORE: Four persons, including two women and a minor girl, were allegedly killed in two road accidents here on Tuesday.

In the Defence B area, eight-year-old Sonia died allegedly after being hit by a speeding car in a street.

A police official said the deceased girl was the daughter of a poor woman who worked as a housemaid in Phase V of the Defence Housing Authority.

As the girl came out of the house where her mother was employed, a speeding car hit her, while the driver sped away from the scene, leaving her critically injured.

The girl was taken to hospital where she succumbed to her critical head injuries, the police official said, adding a case was lodged against the unidentified car driver with no arrest so far.

In the other incident, a car carrying three persons later identified as Faiza, 45, and Rabia, 50, and Jamshed, 28, coming from Sheikhupura, hit a truck’s rear part near Chuhng. As a result, the women and the man suffered multiple injuries and were shifted to hospital, where doctors pronounced all of them dead.

The truck driver fled the scene, a police official said, adding a case had been registered against him.
