LAHORE: Punjab has reported 1,798 new Covid-19 cases and 17 deaths on Thursday. No death was reported in Lahore.

During the last 24 hours, 22,902 tests were conducted. Of them 731 tested positive in Lahore, 249 in Rawalpindi, 107 in Faisalabad, 100 in Multan, 62 in Sargodha, 44 in Muzaffargarh, 43 in Sahiwal. 40 in Gujarat, 37 in Rahim Yar Khan, 31 each in Bahawalpur and Khanewal, 30 each in Sheikhupura and Dera Ghazi Khan, 28 each in Jhang and Layyah , 27 in Gujranwala, 19 in Okara, 16 each in Nankana Sahib and Chakwal, 14 each in Bhakkar, Mianwali, Toba Tek Singh, and Lodhran respectively, 10 each in Vehari, Sialkot and Kasur, eight each in Rajanpur and Pakpattan, six in Khushab, five in Mandi Bahauddin, four each in Narowal and Hafizabad and three each in Chiniot and Bahawalnagar.

The overall positivity rate was 7.9 per cent, with Lahore 12pc, Rawalpindi 17pc, Faisalabad and Multan 7pc each.

Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department Secretary Imran Sikandar Baloch said the vaccination campaign was running successfully in the province moving.
