LAHORE: The PML-N has rejected outright the PPP’s proposal to bring no-confidence motion against the PTI government in Punjab, says PPP central Punjab President Raja Pervaiz Ashraf.

“We are not happy with the PML-N for rejecting our proposal to bring no-confidence motion in Punjab,” the former prime minister who recently assumed the party office in the province told reporters here on Wednesday.

He rued the PML-N should have considered the PPP’s suggestion and gone for it.

The PML-N had already clarified that since the opposition did not have the required number in Punjab to oust the Buzdar government, there was no point in bringing no-confidence motion.

Flanked by Hasan Murtaza, Aslam Gill, Usman Malik and Munawar Anjum, Mr Ashraf said the PTI government had completely failed to deliver.

“We will form the next government in Punjab. The PPP has been active in Punjab and in the coming couple of months a visible change in this regard in the province will be seen,” he said and thanked the Lahorites for giving him a rousing welcome in the city.

He said he would reorganise the party in Punjab and its doors were also open for those who quit.

He said the PPP would not get any ‘help’ to come to power.

He said the PTI was an anti-people government which was rendering thousands of employees jobless instead of giving job to the unemployed. The PPP in its last tenure had provided jobs to people and given 120pc increase in the salaries of government employees.

Mr Ashraf said Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari was effectively overseeing the party matters.

“The party under his command will make a comeback in Punjab and form the next government here,” he asserted.

PPP Punjab parliamentary leader Hasan Murtaza said the party did not take PTI minister Fayyazul Hasan Chohan seriously.
