ISLAMABAD: Criminals snatched and stole cash and valuables worth millions of rupees in over a dozen strikes in the capital, police said.
In the first incident, prize bonds and ornaments worth Rs2.6 million were taken away from a house in D-17. Police said two men raided Adnan Tariq’s house and held up his wife at gunpoint and escaped with the valuables.
In another incident, cash and prize bounds worth Rs2.7 million were stolen from a house in Badana Kalan, the police said, adding burglars broke into the house of Nazakat Hussain when the residents were away.
Likewise, cash and ornaments worth Rs700,000 were stolen from Mohammad Munir’s house in Pakistan Town.
Thieves stole cash and ornaments worth Rs400,000 from a house in G-6/2.
Two gunmen on a motorcycle intercepted Mohammad Zaman in Sihala Bazaar and snatched cash from him.
Moreover, cash and mobile phones were snatched from Fahad Khan by two robbers in Furniture Market. Robbers also snatched cash and a mobile phone worth Rs30,000 from Syed Hussain in G-7.
