PESHAWAR: A massive anti-encroachment drive will be started in the capital city under the Peshawar Revival Plan.

A decision to this effect was made at a meeting held here on Monday with Peshawar division commissioner Riaz Khan Mehsud in the chair.

Focal person for the project MPA Asif Khan, director general Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) Ammara Khan, additional deputy commissioner, Peshawar, Shama Niamat, SSP traffic Fazal Ahmad Jan, DG railways Samiullah Khan, the director Environment Protection Agency and officers of other departments concerned attended the meeting.

The divisional commissioner was given a detailed briefing on the steps taken so far for the implementation of the Peshawar Revival Plan.

The PDA and town municipal administrations of all the four towns and traffic police were directed to conduct a survey and furnish report within a week to launch the anti-encroachment operation from next week.

Under the plan, the Town-I administration was directed to conduct operation in the interior city, Town-II on Charsadda Road, Town-III on University Road and Town-IV on Kohat Road, while Pakistan Railways was directed to launch the anti-encroachment operation on both sides of railway track from Hashtnagri to Firdous and from Nauthia to Hayatabad. Similarly, PDA was tasked with launching the drive in Hayatabad and Karkhano market.
