KARACHI, Nov 2: New fares of airconditioned and non-airconditioned buses running between Karachi and major cities of the country were announced at a meeting held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of the Sindh transport minister and attended by officials and owners of inter-city/inter-provincial bus services.

Official sources said the new fares were being announced consequent upon complaints from the public regarding charging of excessive fares by transport operators of these buses. The meeting was attended, besides the minister, by the Sindh secretary, LTIC, the deputy inspector-general (traffic) all senior superintendent of police (traffic zones), the TPOs of Saddar and Gulberg towns, senior officers of the transport department and owners of buses.

The following fares of airconditioned/non-airconditioned stage carriages were unanimously agreed upon till further order:
