KARACHI: Two killed in accidents

KARACHI, Nov 3: Two persons died in separate road accidents in the city on Thursday. Police said Mohammad Aslam, 40, was knocked down by a speeding water tanker in New Karachi’s Sector 5-D. The injured was taken to Abbasi Hospital where he died during treatment.

In another accident, Iqbal Husain, 25, died in a hit and run accident in Sultanabad area.

Police said that the victim was crossing the M.T. Khan road when a speeding vehicle knocked him down and fled.

The victim died on the spot, and his body was sent to JPMC for legal formalities.

DIES: A five-year-old girl died when a stray bullet hit her in Old Golimar area late Wednesday night.

Police said Maham, 5, was playing near her house in the KMC Flats in the limits of Pak Colony police station when a stray bullet pierced through her body causing her instant death. Her father Pervaiz is an employee of the City District Government Karachi.

According to the eyewitnesses, a clash between Rehman and Arshad Pappu groups resulted in an exchange of fire during which the girl died.

SUICIDE: A man committed suicide by consuming poisonous substance in his house in the limits of Artillery Maidan police station early Thursday morning.

Mohammad Tanveer, 40, a driver, was issueless for a couple of years and used to have frequent altercations with his wife over the issue.

Police said on Thursday morning, Tanveer has an argument with his wife and later consumed some poisonous substance after locking himself in his room. The victim was taken to the JPMC where he died during treatment.
