MARDAN: The police on Monday arrested a man for assaulting a 12-year-old boy in Muzafar Abad area on Monday.

Officials of the Par Hoti police station quoted the 12-year-old orphan as saying that he was standing in front of his house when an accused identified as Kashif asked him to come with him to his home as he wanted to give him kites.

“However, the accused took me to a deserted plot near his house and molested me by force,” the boy told the police.

The police registered FIR against the accused on the complaint of the victim boy and his maternal uncle. They, later arrested the accused.

The police officials said they had sent samples of the boy to the District Headquarters Hospital, Mardan, for medical examination.
