KARACHI: Chief Min­ister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Thursday led a rally to express solidarity with the oppressed people of India-occupied Kashmir at CM House.

The rally was attended among others by Corps Commander Lt-Gen Nadeem Anjum, Chief Secretary Mumtaz Shah, IG Police Mushtaq Mahar, DG Rangers Major Gen Iftikhar Chaudhry, Karachi Commissioner Navid Shaikh, provincial ministers, notables and government officers.

The chief minister along with others carried a long banner on which oppression against people of Kashmir was reflected in the shape of photos, arrests of people, curfew and bullet-riddled buildings and bodies to invite attention of the international community.

The participants wore black armbands and had flags of Pakistan and Kashmir in their hands as they walked while observing Covid SOPs in CM House and. They expressed solidarity with the people of occupied Kashmir and condemned revocation of the special status of the valley by India on August 5, 2019.

Boat rally

To observe solidarity with the people of India-occupied Kashmir for their right to self-determination, the officers and members of the staff of the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) undertook activities at sea on Thursday.

In this regard a boat rally consisting of local fishermen was taken out at the Karachi Fish Harbour. It was the PMSA’s way of joining hands with the entire nation to acknowledge the epic struggle of Kashmiris facing brutal atrocities at the hands of Indian forces.

The PMSA would continue to support Kashmir cause and would stand by their Kashmiri brothers and sisters in their efforts to gain freedom from India.
