THE future of a country depends upon its youth and the progress it makes. History bears testimony to the fact that nations rise when their young make things happen with remarkable inventions and innovations in various fields.
Currently, the world has become a global village which is interconnected due to social networking and microblogging websites and platforms. Facebook, one of the most popular social networks, was launched by a young man, Mark Zuckerberg, in 2004 during his university days.
But, the situation is different in Pakistan. Our youth is becoming more narcissistic than innovative. Our young spend most of their time surfing the social media instead of creating ideas and using research and technology for the uplift of the country.
Every youngster wants to become wealthy within no time and without much in the name of struggle.
The level of education, creativity and morality among youth is going downhill due to the excessive use of social media apps.
It is high time we changed our perspective about social media use and its reality. More attention should be paid towards innovative and creative ideas to make overall advancement.
