PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority officials sealed two restaurants over unhygienic conditions in the University Town area here on Sunday.

The operation was carried out on the directions of the authority’s director general Shahrukh Ali Khan.

During the inspection workers in several food outlets were found without having medical screening certificates.

Mr Ali Khan said the authority was working round the clock to ensure food safety in the province.

He said a call centre had been established to address public complaints.

He said people could register their complaints through the toll free number 0800-37432.
