KARACHI: The National Mens Throwball Championship will commence at Batakundi in Naran from August 5 under the auspices of Pakistan Throwball Federation (PTF) and in collaboration with Department of Sports and Youth Affairs Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa .

This was announced by Secretary General, Pakistan Throwball Federation, Maqbool Arian who added that all arrangements of the championship will be finalized in the Organizing Committee meeting on August 1, to be held under the Chairmanship of President KP Throwball Association, Khaliqur Rehman.

Maqbool clarified that the National Men and Women Throwball Championships were not played last year due to coronavirus. He said that the invitation letters of the championship have been sent to 12 teams of the country namely Pakistan WAPDA, Pakistan Police, Pakistan Navy, Culligan, Agha Khan Youth Sports Board, Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa, Islamabad, Azad Jamu Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.

The semifinals will be played on August 7 at 10:00am while the final will be held at 3:00pm on the same day. Trophies, Medals and Certificates will be delivered to the winning teams at the concluding ceremony at 5:00pm.

Maqbool added that players showing good performance during the championship will be selected in the national team for international events.

Meanwhile, the managers’s meeting of the participating teams will be held on August 4 at 5.00pm in which the draws of the championship will be taken out besides lectures will also be about the new rules of the championship.
