HARIPUR: The residents of several villages here have demanded the reconstruction and widening of the Damne Koh-Pir Sohawa Road to address traffic congestion.

In a joint statement, local politician Sardar Ahmad Yar Jang Khan and other residents said the 12km Damne Koh-Pir Sohawa Road was 16 feet wide but witnessed heavy traffic daily to the misery of its users.

They said major hotels were located alongside the road and the roadside parking of vehicles by both residents and tourists caused traffic mess. The residents demanded the reconstruction and widening of the road like an expressway to address the frequent traffic jams.

ROLL NUMBER SLIPS: A consumer court has directed a private school to immediately issue the withheld roll number slips to all students, whose exams are slated to begin on July 27.

In a complaint filed with the court, Ariyan Khan said his son, Sultan Mehmood Khan, was enrolled in ninth grade at the Educator School and College Chohar Sharif Road branchand paid due fees for the 2020-21 academic year.

The boy was slated to sit exams from July 27 but the school refused to issue him the roll number slip, which was mandatory for his entrance to the examination hall.

The school sought time for filing reply to the complaint but the court directed it to issue roll number slips to the boy and all other students without delay and file a written reply to the complaint by Aug 6.
