RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) seized a large quantity of narcotics and arrested suspects during its operations in the twin cities.
The ANF said in a press release on Sunday that it had seized drugs comprised heroin, hashish, opium, methamphetamine (ice) and morphine.
It said the ANF and the police station ANF Rawalpindi conducted an intelligence-based operation in Gulistan Colony and recovered 5kg hashish from Mohammad Husnain.
In another operation, the ANF police station Islamabad intercepted a car on A.K. Brohi Road near Jamia Masjid Termazi, G-11, and recovered 400 ecstasy tablets (weighing 188 grams) from the possession of Hameed Khan and Said Amin, residents of Khyber district, and arrested them.
The ANF Rawalpindi also arrested Abid Khan, a resident of Khyber district, from the parking area of Islamabad International Airport and recovered 2kg heroin from his briefcase. The suspect was travelling to Bahrain.
The ANF Islamabad intercepted two vehicles near Scheme-III and recovered 2.5kg heroin from them. Two suspects, Shah Nawaz Rind Baloch, a resident of Islamabad, and Shauhaib Rehman from Kotli, were arrested.
The ANF also took Mohammad Adnan into custody after recovering 5kg hashish from his possession. The ANF Islamabad conducted a raid on the International Mail Office at Chaklala garrison and found 400 suspected tablets (weighing 160 grams) in a parcel. The parcel was booked by Shujah Chaudhry from Netherlands.
