Two labourers shot dead in Ziarat

QUETTA: Unidentified gunmen killed two labourers and injured another in the Mana area of Ziarat district, police said on Wednesday.

The incident took place late Tuesday night when armed men riding a motorcycle opened indiscriminate fire on the three labourers. Two of them died on the spot after receiving multiple bullet injuries while the third labourer was injured.

Deputy Commissioner of Ziarat Waqar Khurshid Alam confirmed the incident and said that the deceased belonged to Sibi and were working at an orchard.

After receiving information about the incident, police shifted the bodies and the injured to the district hospital in Ziarat.

The deceased were identified as Abdullah and Shahid and the injured as Jamal Khan.

The cause of the attack has not been ascertained. Security forces have launched a search operation in the area to trace out the attackers. However, no one has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
