KARACHI: An employee of the Pakistan Navy was murdered in Sultanabad, police said on Wednesday.

They added that the body of Malik Mukhtiar, in his mid-40s, was recovered from a flat in Sameer Apartments. He was stabbed to death.

Docks SHO Aijaz Memon said that the victim was an employee of the Pakistan Navy. He was living along with other bachelor friends in the flat.

The officer said that unidentified suspect(s) killed him with knife for some unknown reasons when he was alone.

He was found dead lying in a pool of blood by his roommate when the latter returned home.

The body was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre to fulfil medico-legal formalities.

Man shot dead in Gulshan

An around 60-year-old man was shot dead in Gulshan-i-Iqbal on Wednesday.

Police said that Haq Nawaz was gunned down near Rufi Heaven Apartments.

A police officer said that the man was murdered allegedly by his wife Sajida and her alleged friend over some personal issues.

The police arrested the victim’s spouse while the man fled.

The body was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.

Two ‘house robbers’ held in DHA

Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested two suspected robbers allegedly involved in house robberies in Defence and Clifton areas.

Acting on a tip-off, the police conducted an action in Badar Commercial Area and detained Mohammed Ahmed alias Raja and Kashif Ali and recovered equipment from them which were used for breaking locks, said South SSP (Investigation) Imran Mirza.

They had ‘confessed’ to their involvement in a recent house robbery in Defence where they looted cash and gold jewellery.
