CHITRAL: District and sessions judge Phool Bibi here on Saturday administered oath to the newly-elected office-bearers of Chitral district bar association (DBA), including president Niaz A Niazi, general secretary Khadimul Akbar, vice-president Sajidullah and finance secretary Jahanzeb.

Speaking on the occasion, the district and sessions judge said that in order to expedite the trials of pending cases of Chitral before the Circuit Bench of Peshawar High Court in Swat the hearing via video link had been started. She said that the litigants and their witnesses and counsel would not have to go there physically.

She said the hearing through video link would bring a great relief to the litigants of this remote area. She said work on the judicial complex had been resumed and she was monitoring progress on it to ensure its completion this year.

Meanwhile, general secretary of steering committee of all political parties, Chitral, Fazlur Rahman appreciated the district administration of Upper Chitral and the high-ups of National Highway Authority for their prompt action to restore traffic on Booni Road at Reshun.

Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, he said the prime minister and KP chief minister wasted no time to order the NHA to move to Reshun village after the road eroded into the river.

He said the traffic was restored after completion of the alternative route in just two days.
