LAHORE: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab claims to have arrested three militants during a crackdown in various parts of Punjab.

According to a spokesperson, the CTD conducted 49 IBOs in various parts of Punjab and interrogated 50 suspects in the last seven days. The teams arrested Saad who belongs to defunct organisation HuT in Lahore, Iftikhar Ahmad who belongs to the defunct ISIS in Gujrat and Wasim Abbas who belongs to the defunct SMP in T.T. Singh.

Keeping in view the recent wave of terrorism across the country particularly targeted killing of police officials, he said, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab has conducted extensive Intelligent Based Operations (IBOs) to avert any untoward incident.

He said the CTD Punjab was proactively pursuing its goal of safe and secure province and would leave no stone unturned in its efforts to bring terrorists and anti-state elements behind the bars.
