LAHORE: A car caught fire shortly after it overturned on the Main Boulevard of Gulberg here on Saturday.

The incident occurred due to speeding and the driver suffered minor injuries, a police official said.

He said as the car rammed into a footpath, it caught fire and the man got trapped.

Motorists and passersby rushed to the site and rescued the trapped man, the police official said, adding they tried to control the blaze but failed as it had completely damaged the car. The incident threw traffic out of gear on the busiest road for an hour or so.
