QUETTA: Two suspected militants were killed in a heavy exchange of fire that took place between security forces and militants during a search operation in Balochistan’s Kharan district.

Official sources said that a soldier of Frontier Corps embraced martyrdom during the gunfight.

An official statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations on Friday said that security forces conducted the intelligence-based operation in Hulmerg area of Kharan district.

It said the two terrorists who were killed during the operation were involved in various acts of violence against civilians as well as the security forces.

During the search operation in the area, the security forces seized significant quantity of arms and ammunition.

The deceased FC soldier was identified as Sepoy Fidaur Rehman. He was a resident of Mastuj tehsil of Chitral district.
